A Thousand Years of Good Prayers, film en français - M. Shi est un veuf retraité de Beijing. Lorsque sa fille unique Yilan, qui vit aux Etats-Unis, les divorces, va visiter la petite ville où elle travaille comme bibliothécaire. Son intention est de rester avec elle jusqu'à ce que vous rétablir et à reconstruire leur vie, mais Yilan pas intéressé dans le plan de son père pour sauver leur mariage et quand il insiste pour connaître les motifs de divorce, sa fille commence à l'éviter.
