LE FILM - SYNOPSIS ET DÉTAILS DU FILM

Hemingway's Adventures of a Young Man, film en français - Jeune et agité Nick Adams, le fils unique d'une mère dominatrice et un faible mais noble père médecin, quitte sa maison rurale Michigan à embarquer pour un voyage de ski de fond riche en événements. Il est touché et affecté par ses rencontres avec un ex-boxeur punch-drunk, un télégraphiste sympathique, et une advanceman alcoolique pour un spectacle burlesque. Après avoir échoué à obtenir un emploi comme journaliste à New York, il enrôle dans l'armée italienne pendant la Première Guerre mondiale comme un chauffeur d'ambulance. Son esprit de camaraderie avec les autres soldats et une romance avec une infirmière qu'il rencontre après avoir été blessé le propulser à la virilité.
