LE FILM - SYNOPSIS ET DÉTAILS DU FILM
Monk with a Camera, film en français - Nicholas Vreeland a marché loin de la vie mondaine de privilège de devenir moine bouddhiste tibétain. Petit-fils du légendaire éditeur de Vogue, Diana Vreeland, et formés par Irving Penn à devenir un photographe, la vie de Nicolas a changé radicalement en rencontrant un maître tibétain, l'un des enseignants du Dalaï Lama. Peu après, il a donné sa vie glamour de vivre dans un monastère en Inde, où il a étudié le bouddhisme pendant quatorze ans. Dans une tournure ironique du destin, Nicholas est retourné à la photographie pour aider ses compagnons moines reconstruire leur monastère. Récemment, le Dalaï Lama a nommé Nicholas comme Abbé du monastère, lui le premier Occidental dans l'histoire du bouddhisme tibétain faisant, pour atteindre une telle position hautement considéré.
