Othello, film en français - Avec des personnages fraîchement rebaptisés et le dialogue flambant neuf, cette production de télévision britannique d'Othello est un «repenser» de la pièce de Shakespeare, mais en conservant le pouvoir et la puissance de l'original. L'histoire se déroule dans le Londres de l'avenir proche, une métropole en proie à la criminalité quasiment déchirés par les hostilités raciales. Par arrêté du Premier ministre, officier de police John noir Othello (Eamonn Walker) est promu commissaire, un poste convoité par cher ami, mentor et compagnon de l'officier d'Othello Ben Jago (Christopher Eccleston). Bouillant de jalousie, Jago arrange pour discréditer Othello dans les yeux du public, et de détruire le mariage interracial de John à l'Dessie lys blanc (Keeley Hawes). Parmi ceux utilisés comme dupes involontaires à gagner les extrémités de Jago font confiance lieutenant d'Othello, Michael Cass (Richard Coyle), scrupuleusement honnête agent de police Alan Roderick (Del Synnott), et la propre femme de Jago, Lulu (Rachael Stirling).
