The Prince and the Showgirl, film en français - Lors d'une visite à Londres pour le couronnement du roi George V, le Grand-Duc de Carpathia répond Elsie, une belle chorale invite à dîner à son ambassade. La soirée ne va pas exactement comme prévu est dû à plusieurs interruptions imprévues. Cependant, le lendemain, les deux vont se rendre compte que a surgi entre eux un sentiment très spécial. Basé sur une pièce par le dramaturge anglais Terence Rattigan, Laurence Olivier a réalisé ce film qui pourrait être comprise comme une variation de «Cendrillon».
