The Trouble with Bliss, film en français - 35-year-old Morris Bliss (Michael C. Hall) est serré dans les mâchoires d'inertie New York: il veut voyager, mais n'a pas d'argent; il a besoin d'un emploi, mais n'a pas de perspectives; il partage toujours un appartement avec son père veuf; et la mort prématurée de sa mère a laissé muré jusqu'à émotionnellement. Quand il se retrouve enveloppé dans une relation bizarre avec Stephanie (Brie Larson), le 18-year-old fille d'un ancien camarade de classe, Morris découvre rapidement son dénouement de vie statique et l'ouverture de façons qui sont depuis longtemps.
