Two Years Before the Mast, film en français - En 1834, Charles Stewart (Alan Ladd), l'gâté, fils dissolue d'un magnat du transport maritime, est Shanghaied à bord du Pilgrim, un des navires propres de son père. Il se lance dans un long voyage en mer infernale sous le règne tyrannique du capitaine Francis Thompson (Howard Da Silva), assisté par son premier lieutenant, Amazeen (William Bendix). Un de ses coéquipiers est Richard Henry Dana Jr. (Brian Donlevy).
